St. Bees Coasline

You can explore the coast by bike or foot on the 'Coast to Coast' Walk and
'Sea to Sea' Cycle Route both which take you from the west coast over to
the east coast.

The coastline is full of breathtaking views and wildlife. Hidden along the
cliff port you will find Fleswick Bay, one of the most beautiful shingle
beaches to be seen!

An RSPB nature reserve on the headlands is home to England's only colony
of Black Guillemots. Puffins, terns and other sea birds can also be seen.

The Western Lakes - Wasdale

The Victorian seaside village of St. Bees has a variety of pubs and places to
enjoy a cosy meal, either at the start or finish of 'Wainwrights Coast to Coast Walk'.

There is also a coastal footpath to the town of Whitehaven, from where is
the C2C cycle route starts or finishes. As well as other attractions Whitehaven
is also home to a Maritime Festival, held bi-anually in June.

Egremont is a traditional Market town with an old Norman castle from
the 12 century and host to the crab fair dating from 1267 held annually
in and around the third Saturday in September.
