The Crown Inn previously known as The Crown Hotel is situated in the heart of the English Lake
District in the centre of the picturesque village of Coniston.
Only a short distance from the famous lake which Donald Campbell used for his water speed
record with his jet boat Bluebird and only a short distance from the beautiful Tarn Hows.

At the Crown Hotel, we now have twelve comfortable en suite bedrooms, consisting of
double, twin, family and triple. Single rooms are available at quieter times.

Our guest accommodation has been awarded 4 stars with Cumbria Tourism.

All rooms have been completely refurbished to a very high standard, to ensure the comfort of all
our guests. All rooms are with bath or shower and all are centrally heated. Each have quality

The route up through Glen Mary to Tarn Hows is part of a lovely short circular walk
from Coniston,
Part of which is along the 'Cumbria Way"

which rises to 2,631 feet and can be walked in various ways to suit all abilities, and
Dow Crag
provides
some of the best rock climbing in Great Britain, while lake-shore walks to
Torver are very
popular. Grizedale Forest, which is not far away, is the ideal landscape for mountain biking.
