TAKE A BREAK - VISIT THE EDEN VALLEY & THE HOWGILLS MILL BECK COTTAGE Morland, between Penrith and Appleby www.millbeckcottage.com Morland is a delightful, peaceful and unspoilt village midway between Appleby and Penrith, nestling in the Eden Valley between the Lakes (Ullswater) and the Pennines. Morland is one of the oldest villages, having grown up around the beck and Saxon church on its small hill, the oldest in Cumbria dating from the 8th Century. Mill Beck Cottage, on Water Street, faces the beck, with open fields beyond. |
