Less than a mile from the shores of Derwentwater, Manesty is one of the most peaceful corners of Borrowdale. The picturesque village of Grange is a short distance away. Manesty has been in the Leyland family for six generations, so we are a mine of local knowledge. Come and relax at Fellside holiday cottages, on the lower slopes of Catbells with stunning views of Derwentwater and the Borrowdale fells and valley. Set in 8 acres of private woodland gardens, home to the red squirrels. The cottages are 4 miles from Keswick and a 10 minute walk to Derwentwater. There is direct access straight onto the fells and lakeshore through a private gate in the garden. We also have cottages a short distance away in the Newlands Valley. Derwentwater lies to the south of Keswick, and Manesty is situated at the western side of the lake. The Borrowdale valley runs beside the lake and down to the Honister Pass which leads to Buttermere. It is a beautiful part of the Lake District.

Our holiday cottages are mostly in the Western Lake District, especially in Eskdale, Wasdale, Ravenglass, Gosforth and Ennerdale, although we also have houses in the Borrowdale valley near Keswick, in the Duddon Valley near Coniston and in Grasmere. This part of the Lake District has a slower, quieter pace of life than in the more bustling centres of Windermere and Ambleside. Here, there are still more sheep than people, a real sense of tranquility, and hundreds of wonderful walks, either along the river banks at valley floors, the coastal beaches of the Irish Sea or high up on some of the most spectacular fells in the country.
Our self-catering accommodation gives you the flexibility to cook at home, or to visit the many welcoming pubs within easy reach, offering traditional Cumbrian foods and ales.

We are based in Borrowdale Keswick, the Heart of the Lake District. You can either tour the lakes or go further afield, Yorkshire Moors, Yorkshire Dales,
Scotland anywhere in the UK. You can leave your car with us, when you pick the van up. You get freedom and choice to do what you want. Our Fiat Bessecarr E410 2 berth is a luxury motorhome with everything you require to enjoy a relaxing and peaceful holiday. The Motorhome provides luxury daytime living with 2 sofas and 2 swival seats at the front, while at night the comfortable forward lounge with gas fire can be quickly converted into a large double bed. Towards the rear is a fully fitted kitchen with hot and cold runing water, also there is a spacious wash room with shower, toilet and sink. There is a large wardrobe to store your clothes in and ample storage space around the Motorhome.
